The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of India celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan.

By the Order signed by H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan celebrates the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

 

The Embassy of Azerbaijan to India and also concurrently accredited to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka has marked the celebration of  the 100th anniversary of Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan (DRA) on April 25ç 2018 in New Delhi.

Mr. Jeyhun Aliyev, Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy open the ceremony and briefed the audience about the history, territory, legislative activities, foreign policy and diplomatic relations of DRA.

Moreover he informed that DRA lasted 23 months, between May 28, 1918 – 27 April 1920 and occupied by Red Army of Soviet Union. Azerbaijani people struglled for independence during 71 years. By the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, National Leader of Azerbaijan national movement get victory.

Azerbaijan restored the independence on October 18, 1991. Today, Azerbaijan grows by the leadership of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and is an active member of international community as a sovereign state.

Mr. Arif Mohammad Khan, Former Union Minister, H.E. Mr. Sakir Ozkan Torunlar Ambassador of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Bulat Sarsenbayev Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Mr. Virender Khataria, Former Governor, Professor J.S. Rajput, Eminent Educationalist and İndian representative to Executive Board of UNESCO, Muzaffar Ahmad, prominent writer and politician, Mr. K.V. Rajan, Former Ambassador of India delivered speech about history of Azerbaijan, National Leader's  historical guidance, modern advancement by leadership of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan-India relations.
