The Ambassador of Azerbaijan presented his credentials to the President of Bangladesh
On October 21, the newly appointed non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Elchin Huseynli, presented his credentials to the President of this country, Mohammad Shahabuddin.
After the official presentation ceremony held in the capital city of Dhaka, President M. Shahabuddin, who received the Ambassador, congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success in his work.
The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the head of state of Bangladesh. Expressing gratitude for the greetings, the President of Bangladesh, in turn, asked to convey his sincere greetings to the head of our state.
During the conversation, effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh in multilateral formats was noted, the importance of further expansion of bilateral relations was emphasized.
During his visit to Dhaka, Ambassador E. Husaynli met with the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Dr. Mohammad Yunus, and Sayeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change.
At the meetings, views were exchanged on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between our countries in the fields of economic-trade, tourism, air connectivity, culture and education, and it was agreed to intensify exchanges and contacts for the development of relations.
The interlocutors were informed about the activity agenda and global initiatives of Azerbaijan's COP29 Chairmanship, activities to support developing small island states and less developed countries, important events organized in Baku before COP29 and their results. Gratitude was expressed for Bangladesh's support within the Non-Alignment Movement for the Global Truce Call for COP29 initiated by our country.
Muhammad Yunus said that he remembered with pleasure the visits he made to Azerbaijan in March of this year in order to participate in the 11th Global Baku Forum, as well as in previous years. He pointed out that he will attend the Summit of World Leaders on Climate Action in Baku on November 12-13 as the head of the interim government of Bangladesh at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan.
